* The Ascott Group has bought 192
bedroom Turnstile House in Holborn

* The Ascott Group is planning to
expand into more second tier cities in China. At present they have 10
properties in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, but they
are now looking to expand into smaller but equally important cities. By
2010, they hope to operate in excess of 10000 serviced apartments in
China, with the Citadines and Somerset brands providing most of the
expansion. The total number of properties in China at present is: 21.
* Oakwood, another global operator of
serviced apartments is opening 175 unit serviced apartment complex in
Hangzhou towards the end of 2008. This will be one of 8 properties due
to open in China by Oakwood over the next 2 years bringing their total
number of units to 2000 across 5 cities.
* The CHPA (Corporate Housing
Providers Association) has released its annual statistics for 2007 and
concludes that the industry has experienced double digit growth in
revenue. "Corporate Housing growth outpaced the lodging industry
in 2007" says Ned Scharpf, CHPA President.
Corporate Housing offers fully
furnished apartments with a typical minimum stay of 30 nights. The
average stay in 2007 was 81 days.

bedroom apartment and £820 per week for a two bedroom apartment.
Richmond Bridge Development - East
Twickenham, a selection of one - and two bedroom apartments for
stays of one week or more. Prices start from £1005 per week for a one
bedroom apartment and £1410 for a two bedroom apartment.
Skyline Apartments - Birmingham, a selection of one - and two bedroom
apartments starting from £525 per week for a one bedroom and £675 for a
two bedroom apartment

week and inclusive of all bills (excluding telephone and VAT) and a
