Merry Christmas from The Apartment Service
City Focus - Rome

If you were to sum up the city of
Rome, Italy in two words, they would be 'busy' and 'historic'. This
beautiful city is over 2,700 years old and has become one of the most
popular cities in the world. Rome is simply full of history with an
enormous amount of spectacular ancient Roman monuments, including the
Vatican City, The Forum, from where Julius Caesar once governed ancient
Rome, the Colosseum and the ruins of the Circus Maximus, where, if you
use your imagination you can almost picture the 200,000 spectators
cheering at gladiator fights and other barbaric sporting events.
There are also a large number of museums displaying ancient artefacts
and countless Rome art galleries, with world-famous paintings and
sculptures by artists such as Raphael, Bottecelli, Pinturicchio and
Belini, to name but a few. There are several tourism and tourist
information offices situated in the city centre of Rome and these
provide up-to-date information about Rome tourist attractions, museums,
public transportation, local sights and general Rome tourism tips.
The most relaxing way to be in Rome and to visit all the wonderful sites, is to stay in a serviced apartment. The Apartment Service offers a large number of them in this beautiful city, such as:
Borgo Pio 2000 - with one bedroom apartments from €120 per night (minimum 3 nights)

ARTICLE OF THE MONTH
Good food is always a welcome for all. But, ever heard of the “most
expensive” food? Well, then, there is exciting news for all those epicurean
souls, about some of the most expensive food and beverages across the globe. As
expensive as their price may seem, yet each of these exclusives is a classic in
itself.
Take a look:
Most Expensive Sandwich
To start with, the world's most expensive sandwich can be talked about in
the very first place. The classic sandwich is found in any of the McDonald outlets.
The sandwich is believed to be one of the healthy diets comprising components
such as, black truffle mayonnaise, wagyu beef, brie de meaux, rocket, fresh
lobe foie gras, red pepper and mustard confit and English plum tomatoes as it's
key ingredients. The sandwich is priced at £85.
Most Expensive Pizza
The world's most expensive pizza, Pizza Royale 007, is prepared by the
master chef and restaurateur, Domenico Crolla. The lip-smacking item is
actually named after the famous James Bond, because the food strongly resembles
the rich taste of Bond. The pizza is incredibly sprinkled with edible 24-carat
gold shavings that make for much of its cost. The gold pizza, delicately topped
with champagne-soaked caviar and lobster marinated in the finest cognac, is
priced at more than $3700. The pizza is ready to be up for bidding
on eBay.
Most Expensive Whiskey
For those who are a loyal brand-follower and are very sporty for liqueurs,
the most expensive whiskeys should be a must-taste for all of them. Beginning with
the legendary 60-year-old whiskey from the Macallan Fine and Rare Collection,
the $38,000 scotch whiskey is still said to be found in the Old Homestead
Steakhouse in the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, N.J.,
for $3,300 per dram. Another whiskey brand from the Macallan collection,
priced at $10,125, is considered the second most expensive liqueur in the
world.
Most Expensive Fruitcake
A unique of its kind, is the diamond-studded Christmas fruitcake. The
delicious cake is exclusively adorned with 223 small diamonds encrusted on it
that needs to be removed while eating the cake. Skillfully created by a
Tokyo-based chef, the bejeweled cake is high-priced at $1.65
million.
Most Expensive Ice Cream
The $1,000 ice cream sundae is the most expensive ice cream in the world to
this date. The exclusive ice cream to be found in the Grand Opulence Sundae, New York, is presented
with 23k edible gold. With its extravagant preparation and presentation, the
expensive ice cream is undoubtedly beyond the reach of people excepting the
rich and well-heeled.
Most Expensive Pie
For those who are simply fanatic about pies and are proud
possessors of a fat pocket, there is news. An extraordinarily delicious pie has
made its way into the market, comprising, £500 beef fillet, Chinese mushrooms
and truffles, as its key ingredients. The pie costs £8,195, divided into eight
slices of about £1,000 a slice. The super expensive pie is believed to be going
well with the rich Louis Roederer Cristal Rose champagne.
